Your brain is naturally wired to trust words.
But psychology shows behavior is a far more reliable signal.

This is linked to the intention–behavior gap. People often express intentions that don’t match what they consistently do, because actions are influenced by habits, emotions, and environment, not just conscious promises.

There’s also something called cognitive dissonance. When someone’s words and actions don’t align, your brain feels discomfort and tries to resolve it, often by believing the words instead of accepting the pattern.

Over time, this can lead to:
• Ignoring red flags
• Justifying inconsistent behavior
• Staying in unhealthy dynamics longer than you should

But human behavior follows patterns.
And patterns are difficult to fake for long.
If you want clarity, don’t analyze what people say once.

Observe what they do repeatedly.
That’s where the truth is.

Badania o przemocy

Children raised in harsh or overcontrolling homes often show lasting changes in the brain’s emotional regulation systems.

Brain scans reveal increased reactivity in the amygdala and slower development of the prefrontal cortex, two regions that need to work together for emotional control and stress regulation.

These patterns are especially strong in girls, and often carry forward into adolescence and adulthood. The good news: these changes are not set in stone.

The brain remains plastic, and studies show that with consistent safety, warmth, and regulation, the emotion circuits can be reshaped.

Even small, repeated experiences of calm can help reverse the survival wiring and build a new baseline of emotional safety.

Przemoc to przestępstwo

Moja matka to przestępca.

Matka się zgadza. Tata nie robił nic z tej listy.
